Gameplay and Daily

What is Wurdella?

Wurdella is a free browser-based word game with unlimited solo rounds, a shared Daily Challenge, local multiplayer, team play and separate-device Challenge a Friend rooms. Players identify a hidden four- or five-letter word in six guesses using green, yellow and incorrect-letter feedback.

Is Wurdella free to play?

Yes. You can play Wurdella in a modern browser without paying or installing an app. Guest play is available immediately.

How many guesses do I get?

Each round gives you six guesses. Every submitted word reveals which letters are correct, which belong elsewhere and which can usually be eliminated.

What do the letter colors mean?

Green means the letter is correct and in the correct position. Yellow means the letter appears in the answer but must move. An incorrect tile means that copy of the letter is not useful in that position or quantity, which matters when a guess contains repeated letters.

Can I play more than one word per day?

Yes. Wurdella has unlimited regular rounds. The Daily Challenge is a separate shared puzzle that changes once per day at 00:00 UTC.

How does Wurdella Daily work?

Everyone receives the same Daily answer for the same UTC date. You have six guesses, can build a Daily streak and can use the spoiler-light Daily Clues page if you want help without immediately revealing the answer.

Playing with other people

How does Challenge a Friend work?

Challenge a Friend creates or joins a server-backed remote room so two people can play the same match from separate devices. The invite link can be sent to the other player, and the room keeps the match synchronized.

How is local multiplayer different?

Local Multiplayer is designed for two to four named players sharing one browser or device. Players take turns on the same board and compete toward a selected match target. Use Challenge a Friend instead when players are on separate devices.

How does team mode work?

Two teams can choose names, member lists and emojis before competing. Teammates discuss possible answers, submit one guess and collect round wins toward the match target.

Clues, scores and difficulty

How do clues work?

One clue is available during rows 1–3. Using it reduces the points available for that round. In competitive play the clue is intended for the active player rather than as free information for everyone.

How many points do I earn?

A clue-free solved round is worth the maximum round score. Using a clue reduces that score, and an unsolved board earns no round points. The scoring guide shows the current values and worked examples.

What difficulty levels are available?

Wurdella includes Kids, Default, Advanced and Expert. Kids uses four-letter words. Default, Advanced and Expert use five-letter answers with increasingly demanding vocabulary.

Is there a version for children?

Yes. Kids mode uses a separate four-letter answer bank and is designed to make the same deduction rules easier to hold in mind for younger players and beginners.

Can teachers use Wurdella in class?

Yes. Teachers can use Wurdella for vocabulary warm-ups, spelling practice, projector activities, English-language learning, evidence-based reasoning and team competitions. The classroom lesson-plan page includes ready-to-teach formats.

Accounts, devices and tools

Do I need an account?

No. Guest play is available. A verified Wurdella account is useful when you want account-backed public leaderboard results and profile-based progress instead of relying only on browser-local guest data.

What does ‘Only verified accounts count’ mean on the scoreboard?

Public leaderboard rankings use eligible results associated with verified Wurdella accounts. Guest scores stay private to the device and are not included in the global rankings.

Does my guest score follow me to another device?

No. Guest statistics are stored in the browser on that device. Use a verified account for account-backed features rather than treating guest browser data as portable.

Does Wurdella work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Wurdella works in modern mobile, tablet, Chromebook, laptop and desktop browsers. The game includes touch controls for mobile and physical-keyboard support on desktop.

Can I use a physical keyboard?

Yes. On desktop you can type letters, use Backspace and submit with Enter. The challenge board is also designed so you do not have to scroll down to the on-screen keyboard before typing.

Where can I find words that fit my board?

Use the Wurdella Word Finder to browse four- and five-letter words by starting letter, ending letter, exact position, letter pair, vowel count and other constraints.
