A gray tile does not always mean that a letter has vanished from the answer. It can mean that you guessed more copies than the word contains. This page isolates every playable Wurdella word that uses at least one letter twice, then separates obvious doubles such as the middle pair in HAPPY from repeats that sit apart and are easier to overlook.

Easy to spot in print
In an adjacent double, both copies occupy neighboring tiles. Words such as AALII, ABYSS, ADDLE, ADEEM advertise the duplication once the spelling is visible, although the board may reveal it slowly if one copy is green and the other is still untested. Do not assume a double merely because one letter has appeared yellow; look for evidence that the answer still needs another copy.
More easily missed
A separated repeat places another letter between the copies, as in ABACA, ABAMP, ABASE, ABATE. These answers are dangerous late in a round because a player can keep searching for five different letters even after the available pattern only supports four. Once the candidate family becomes unusually small, count known letters again before testing something completely new.
This count measures the duplicated letter itself, not every appearance of that letter across the dictionary. It is useful when your board strongly suggests a repeat but has not revealed which character is doing the extra work.

The list runs alphabetically and includes both adjacent and separated repeats. AALII, GRASS, ABACA, FOGOU show why the category cannot be reduced to words containing a visible double. Use the list only after honoring every fixed position, misplaced letter and exclusion on your own board.
A list becomes much more useful when an unfamiliar spelling is explained instead of merely displayed. These meanings come from Wurdella’s reviewed word details; the complete list above remains the authoritative playable set.
Suppose an answer contains one E and your guess contains two. Most tile-based word games award the useful green or yellow match first and mark the unnecessary copy gray. That gray E means “no additional E,” not necessarily “there is no E anywhere.” Wurdella follows quantity-aware feedback, so the safest habit is to read matching letters together instead of interpreting each tile in isolation.
Repeated-letter guesses are usually inefficient on turn one because they test fewer distinct characters. Later, however, duplication can be exactly what the remaining pattern demands. The right moment is when placement evidence and the surviving spellings justify the second copy, not when a familiar word happens to come to mind.
